HEARTCORE BATTERSEA

Chapter was commissioned to create a new studio for Heartcore, a premium boutique fitness studio centred around Reformer Pilates. The studio undertook full interior and architectural services for the project. The starting point for the space was a new ‘grey box’ unit at London’s iconic Battersea Power Station redevelopment. A blank canvas became a visual translation of the wellness brand’s distinctive identity and ethos - its understated luxury - expressed as an atmospheric, escapist and immersive environment. Working closely with the client team, Chapter carefully integrated operational and functional requirements into the architectural planning while maintaining a cohesive and transportive design language throughout. Inspired by African landscapes and time-honoured native craftsmanship, the interiors combine clay-render walls, organic arches, woven Moroccan pendants, banana tree blinds, and cross-sawn timber with a palette of tobacco, rust, and wheat tones. Curated African artworks and artefacts introduce depth and authenticity, while an antique 18th-century limestone sink repurposed as a water bottle refill station creates a sculptural focal point within the waiting area. The result is a calm and sensory-led wellness space defined by material richness and characterful craftsmanship.
